China Shipowners’ Association (CSA) is an industry organization voluntarily established in 1993 by merchant ship owners, operators and managers engaged in water transportation in China as well as other shipping-related enterprises and units. The Ministry of Transport of China is the competent authority of CSA. In addition, CSA serves as a board member of the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) and the Asian Shipowners’ Association (ASA).

As the representative organization of shipping enterprises in China, CSA currently has more than 300 members which own and operate over 4,000 ocean-going ships with a total carrying capacity of nearly 300 million deadweight tons. CSA operates 13 professional Committees.
